Manasa Trust was founded with the objective of promoting the concept of positive mental health education and trying to drive away the myths and misconceptions regarding human behaviour, thus contributing towards the overall development of the community.
It was established in the year 1998 as a charitable trust with multiple objectives and soon decided to focus more on the primary objective of imparting education.
In order to realise the educational objectives of the Trust, over a period of time the following educational units have been established.

1. Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial College (KAPMC), an undergraduate college affiliated to Kuvempu University offering courses leading to BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BSW and BCA degrees. The college also houses the Post Graduate Department of Studies and Research in Psychology affiliated to Kuvempu University. The college was established in 2017 and the PG Department of Psychology in 2020.
2. Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Institute of Allied Health Sciences has been functioning since 2019 offering M.Sc in Clinical Psychology affiliated to Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and approved by the Government of Karnataka. The other programme offered is M.Phil in Clinical Psychology approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India and affiliated to RGUHS. These programmes are managed by the Department of Clinical Psychology. Manasa Trust is proud to place on record that in all these courses students have secured top ranks every year.
3. Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Institute of Nursing (KAPMIN) has been established in 2024-25 and offers the B.Sc in Nursing course. It has been recognised by Karnataka Council of Nursing (KNC).

It is a matter of satisfaction that Manasa Trust has already carved a riche for itself in the field of education with its premiere educational units offering quality education and training in diverse disciplines.
As a first step to fulfill its objective, educating nursing, psychology and psychiatric social work students was taken up and about 90 batches of students have availed this training and made our efforts broad based and meaningful.
Post graduate students in psychology and social work from various colleges of different universities in Karnataka are being provided with an opportunity to do assignments and block placements in our nodal institution, Manasa Nursing Home to cater to the increasing demand for counseling and psychotherapy in this globalised world.
Manasa Trust hosts literary, socio cultural and academic activities. Manasa Trust also organizes the annual Late Kateel Appu Pai lectures on contemporary issues. Dr. Mrs. Kiran Bedi, Shri Mohan Agashe, Mrs. Margaret Alva, H.E. Balakrishna Shetty, Ambassador, Bahrain, Dr. B.M. Hegde, Shri Girish Karnad, Shri. Shyam Benegal, Shri. Suresh Heblikar, Ramon Magsaysay awardee Shri P. Sainath, Shri Jairam Ramesh, former CM of Goa Digambar Kannath, Justice Santosh Hegde, Shri Amol Palekar and Shri. Prabhu Chawla are among the celebrities who have delivered the annual lectures. These activities have mostly been collaboratively organized in association with different local educational institutions.
Manasa Trust decided to offer post graduate diploma courses through its unit for mental health under the name of Manasa Educational Foundation for Mental Health to disseminate mental health awareness to offer quality education in the field of mental health. The objective is to prepare a large number of paramedical workers, trained counselors with additional expertise in mental health in the country The courses offered by the center also provide authentic and scientific information about mental health to those who are interested.
