The Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Institute (KAPMI) Library supports the mission of Collegiate Education by embracing the traditional values of higher education while adapting to the needs of the global community in the 21st century. The Library builds collections and provides access to information and services that support teaching, learning, research, and creative endeavors.

KAPMI Library

It caters to the academic needs of BSc CP, MSc CP, MPhil CP, & MA CP students, aligning with institutional planning and university curriculum. The Library also motivates and organizes students for self-learning through the use of both internet and library resources.

Purpose and Role

The Library serves as the primary Information Resource Centre, identifying, acquiring, organizing, storing, and providing on-demand access to intellectual and research outputs of scholars and students.

  • 📘 Around 417 textbooks and reference books in Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences.
  • 📑 5 journals, reports, dissertations, and academic resources.
  • 📚 A growing collection of reference books, general reading materials, competitive exam books, and previous year question papers.
  • 🌐 Subscriptions to print journals and access to thousands of e-journals, e-books, and databases through the RGUHS HELINET Consortium.
  • 📂 Special collections of Nursing Research Projects, RGUHS Question Papers, and career-guidance resources.

Facilities & Services

  • Open Access System with books classified under Dewey Decimal Classification.
  • Fully computerized with Koha (Open Source Integrated Library System) and Barcode system.
  • E-Library with 6 computers for Open Access Resources and free internet browsing.
  • Reading Hall, Circulation, Reference, Periodicals, Stack, and Textbook Sections.
  • Dedicated areas for Librarian’s Office, Technical Sections, Digital Resource Centre, and Computer Lab.
  • Display panels and notice boards for new arrivals, jobs, seminars, workshops, and news updates.

Library Rules & Regulations

  1. User Borrower’s tickets are not transferable.
  2. A duplicate Borrower’s ticket / membership / No Due Certificate will be issued on payment of Rs. 50/-.
  3. Bags and belongings must be deposited at the counter before entering the library.
  4. Mobile phone usage is strictly prohibited.
  5. Misuse of library services, facilities, or books will invite action.
  6. Personal books are not allowed inside the library.
  7. The librarian may recall any book at any time.
  8. Maintain silence inside the library.
  9. If a book is lost, the borrower must replace it or pay up to twice its cost + 10% handling charge.
