About MPhil Clinical Psychology
The M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology is a two-year full-time professional training program offered under the affiliation of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru) and approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The program is designed to develop competent clinical psychologists equipped with advanced skills in psychological assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation. Students receive extensive hands-on clinical exposure through our own psychiatric hospital, where they work directly with diverse clinical populations under the close supervision of qualified professionals. The course blends rigorous academic learning with practical training, emphasizing ethical practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and research competence. Through case discussions, clinical postings, seminars, and dissertation work, trainees gain a deep understanding of mental health issues across the lifespan. The program aims to prepare students for independent clinical practice, teaching, research, and leadership roles in hospitals, mental health centers, rehabilitation facilities, and academic institutions, contributing meaningfully to the mental health care system.
