On 2nd March 2024, an experiential and scientific workshop on Learning Disability was held on the premises of Vinodhini Building, Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Shivamogga. Dr. Rajani A. Pai, Director, of Manasa Trust, inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Pushpalatha G, Principal of KAPMIAHS, presided over. Dr. Kiran K, District Programme Officer-Mental Health, DHO, Shivamogga, was the Chief Guest of the workshop. Ms. Sridevi R G. and Ms. Ananya S M, Assistant Professors of  MSc Clinical Psychology, KAPMIAHS, along with Ms. K T Shwetha and Ms. Anupama, MPhil Clinical Psychology Trainees, coordinated the workshop.

40 delegates from different places of Karnataka participated in the workshop.

The workshop started with a brief introduction to Learning Disability by Sr. Marie Evelyn, Coordinator for PG Studies, KAPMIAHS. This was followed by session two; Introduction of NIMHANS SLD Battery by the resource person Mr. H M Rakshith, Assistant Professor, Department of M Phil Clinical Psychology, KAPMIAHS.    Session-3 was conducted by    Dr. Pushpalatha G Principal KAPMIAHS, who enlightened the delegates about the interventions and the practical management plans, that should be followed to deal with children having learning disabilities. The learning disability workshop was a resounding success and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the delegates.
